1. 4 B2 Grinding dish Wheel for HSS Cutting Tools, tungsten Carbide tools, ceramic inserts
2.
Diamond and cubic boron nitride (CBN) are considered to be the hardest known grinding materials and are therefore often referred to as „super-abrasives". For this reason they are suitable for machining materials which are difficult or even impossible to grind with conventional abrasives such as silicon carbide or corundum.
Diamond is particularly suitable for machining of hard, brittle and short-chipping materials:
Carbide,
Cermet
Glass
Ceramics,
Quartz,
Ferrites,
Semiconductor materials,
Graphite,
Glass fiber reinforced plastics
In special cases diamond tools may also be economical for machining cast steel and cast iron.
Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN), is produced by high pressure, high temperature synthesis. CBN is the second hardest abrasive, surpassed only by diamond. Compared with diamond it offers economic advantages in the machining of ferrous materials, such as steel. CBN is suited for machining the following materials:
Hardened steel over approx. 54 HRC hardness
High speed steel (HSS)
Chrome steel
Stellite
Nickel based special alloys
Hard-to-machine steels with large proportions of alloys and hardness ratings of 54HRC and above.
A particular advantage in the grinding of hard-to-machine material is that CBN wheels cause less damage to the surface integrity of the workpiece; thus HSS tools ground with CBN wheel often have longer life than those ground with conventional abrasives wheels.
